Your Partner for Air Treatment
Airborne contaminants not only adversely affect you production process, they can result in environmental issues that can seriously damage the image of your business. We can all remember the incident that was reported around the world, when the employees of a famous bottled water manufacturer didn’t replace some charcoal filters.
Filterworld provides cleaning systems for atmospheric air, compressed air and compressed gas applications. From simple panel systems through to carbon adsorbers, Filterworld can identify and supply the correct solution for your problem.
We work with our clients to identify and remove all types of airborne materials so that all of the stakeholders within a business can benefit from a better environment. However, it isn’t always our concern for the environment that pushes through a CapEx for a new air treatment system.
So what are the Main Drivers for your organisation?
Peer Pressure.
A competitor has beaten you to it. The results are better products, better working conditions, higher marketplace recognition – and unfortunately none of it is for you.
Stakeholder Pressure.
Complaints from your neighbours? Are your employees unhappy with dust that results in contaminated clothing? Your stakeholders are not just your shareholders, they are your employees, neighbours, suppliers, shippers and consumers. Every single group needs to know that you are doing everything possible to keep your air treatment systems at the highest possible standards.
Risk Transfer / Peace of mind.
Having an air treatment system designed and installed for you by specialists. The same system is then monitored and maintained to ensure peak performance, allowing you to forget this problem area and get on with the business of making your product.
Legislative compliance.
Have you had a visit for discharging contaminants to air, ground or rivers? Why go to the expense and adverse publicity of installing a treatment system after being prosecuted and fined?
Energy reduction & CCL compliance.
A poorly designed and maintained air treatment system will result in high running costs due to increased pressure losses. Even non-Filterworld air treatment systems can benefit from Filterworld replacement components. We manufacture a variety on bag filters using standard and anti-static felts. Our deep pleat panel filters provide high surface area and low-low pressure drops. Reducing site-wide energy costs results in lower energy bills and take you one step closer to meeting your CCL targets.
So what is the next step? An energy audit may be one solution and these are available through the Carbon Trust. Energy audits come in a variety of flavours. Some are no more than a simple walk-through, whilst others provide an analysis of stack gas composition and solid composition analysis of boiler plant. Unfortunately the walk-through is usually free of charge, whilst the quantitative analysis is not.
Energy audits sometimes reveal a problem that may eliminate the need for air treatment. For example, measuring the content of carbon dioxide in stack gas could indicate incomplete combustion. Generally the presence of more than 100ppm – 200ppm in stack gas points towards a problem that can be resolved without the need for additional air treatment.
The staff of Filterworld have carried out many Energy Audits, from Dockyards through to Aeroplane manufacturers. From Paint manufacturers through to Oil-refineries. In some instances these can be partly funded by the Carbon Trust.
Filterworld Limited is BS-EN-ISO9001:2000 accredited. Our scope of supply covers the Design & Manufacture of Filters and Filter Systems.
