Filtration - get the Technical Facts

Compressed air filtration is simply the removal of air borne particles from a moving pressurised air stream. To this end, millions of pounds have been ploughed into research on filtration media and as much again on the investigation of particle dynamics.

Condensate Drains for use with Compressed Air.

The AER range of condensate valves has been widened to include mechanical as well as electronic drains.

AMR 150 Heavy Duty DrainThe latest addition is the zero loss AMR150 drain, supplied complete with a brass air-lock eliminator. The drain is totally mechanical and ideal for use in areas where electricity is not available. The housing is durable die cast aluminium and is fitted with an oil-resistant light weight float and a stainless steel self-sealing nozzle. The drain can be connected via the 1/2" BSP brass eliminator and will easily fit underneath an air receiver or below an aftercooler. At only £59 this really does represent excellent value for money.

The AER200 electronic zero-loss drain continues to be a success. This drain is manufactured from die-cast aluminium and composite polymer. Controlled by an integral PCB, the drain provides an extremely reliable solution to condensate handling problems. The drain valve has a large capacity built-in bowl, with a 1/2" BSP inlet connection to the wet compressed air supply and a 1/2" BSP outlet connection to discharge the condensate that collects inside the bowl.

Because the AER200 uses a built-in transducer to sense the level of condensate inside the bowl, it will only discharge the condensate liquid when necessary and stops discharging before the bowl is totally empty. This ensures that valuable compressed air is not being wasted by venting an otherwise empty condensate drain. The results are astounding, in many cases the entire cost of the drain can be recovered within a single year!

The AER200 covers most compressor condensate applications and will suit flow rates up to 90 cubic metres per minute (almost 3200 CFM) at pressures up to 16 barg (232 psig). This means that one drain suits nearly all applications. No more sizing charts, no more guesswork. The AER200 is designed to a protection classification of IP65 and is available in two voltages. Either 220V or 110V, this must be specified at time of order placement.

Best of all is the price!!

Where else can you buy a fully-featured zero loss drain to handle the condensates from systems up to 3200 cfm for only

The AER200 is available NOW from your local Filterworld stockist. For bulk purchases we guarantee that they would be more than pleased to offer you attractive discounts, despite the already incredibly low list price.

AER50 and AER100

Filterworld also continues to offer the well established and extremely reliable AER50 and AER100 timer based solenoid drains. Although these drains do not offer the same cost savings as a zero-loss drain, there are many applications where a compact timer drain can offer a simple solution to an irritating problem.

The AER50 is a fully self contained timer and solenoid valve assembly. designed to replace float drains used in all types of compressed air filters ranging from 1/4" up to 3" connections. The brass valve body has Rp 1/8 (1/8" BSP) female connection ports and the timer has a factory preset vent time of 2 seconds, which cannot be adjusted. The time interval between each vent cycle is user adjustable from 1 minute to 120 minutes by simply turning a small knob. This allows each drain to be 'fine tuned' to match the performance of the respective filter that it has been fitted to.

The larger AER100 is a fully self contained twin-timer and solenoid valve assembly designed for use in a variety of differing applications. In the past, these timer based drains have been fitted to aftercoolers, centrifugal separators, receivers, dryers, drain legs and the like. However, we can foresee that many users may now prefer to use the marginally more expensive AER200 zero-loss drain, or the electricity-free AMR150 instead.

The AER100 is fitted to all Filterworld complete filtration systems from 4" connection up to 12" connection. (However, for a nominal charge the AER100 can be upgraded to the zero loss AER200 or electricity free AMR150).

The AER100 also has a brass valve body, with Rp 3/8 (3/8" BSP) female connection ports and the timer has two control knobs allowing an almost infinite permutation of settings.

These low-cost drains are supplied fully complete and ready to use. The coils are either 110v or 240v, you must specify the required voltage at time of order. For problem applications we can supply heavy duty coils, or coils suitable for non-standard voltage supplies.

Two amazingly economical automatic condensate drains which are available for the end user and also designed for resale within the trade. The AER50 is a smaller version of the AER100, and it only has a single timer. The AER100 has two timers which allows the vent time and also the interval between the vent time to be pre-programmed.

The AER50 is designed to be fitted to filters and the like. It has a 1/8" BSP connection and the timer has been factory pre-set so that the vent is a constant 2 seconds. However the interval between each vent cycle can be set by the user, between 1 second and 120 seconds.

The AER100 is a multipurpose drain with a 3/8" connection. The unit can be fitted to almost any type of compressed air product. It has two timers, one will adjust the length of the actual vent time, and the other will adjust the interval between each vent cycle. This allows the unit to have a much greater degree of flexibility and makes it most suitable for use in conjunction with air receivers, dryers, aftercoolers and the like.

Note: Above prices apply for 220v-50Hz and 110v-50Hz models only. Please specify voltage required at time of order placement.
A limited number of other voltages (including 12v DC and 24v DC) are available, please ask for details.
AER50 timer drains have a 2mm valve orifice.
AER100 timer drains have a 4.5mm valve orifice.
Stainless steel timer drains use 304 grade s/s for the valve body.
AER200 zero-loss drains have two x 1/2" BSP inlet ports, one on the top and one on the base. There is also a single 1/2" BSP discharge port, also at the base.
All valve assemblies are CE marked, and conform to IP65.
AMR150 is a die cast aluminium mechanical drain. It has a 1/2" BSP connection and is supplied with a separate male/male brass anti airlock connector. The drain can also be fitted with a balance tube, if the anti airlock connector is not being used.

If the condensate is dirty, we recommend that a Y type strainer is fitted to all of the valves shown above. This will remove the large dirt particles and protect the valve seat, preventing excessive wear and prolonging valve life.
